Meth Addiction Damages Women’s Sex Lives and Emotions

Love can be intoxicating, making people act on impulse and lose their senses about their dream guy or girl.  But what if you really are intoxicated with a toxic drug like crystal meth?  You may do more than just trip over your words or get butterflies.  You could put your life at risk with unsafe sex and dangerous relationships.  Drug rehab may be the only way to stop your life from spiraling out of control.

Meth And Sex Are A Volatile Combination

Methamphetamine decreases sexual inhibitions.  In other words, a woman taking meth may feel like she is more sexually confident.  For women, sex is closely linked with loving feelings.  This is good in a committed long-term relationship.  But many women who quickly become sexually intimate have strong self-doubts or other internal conflicts.  This leaves them vulnerable to drug use to manage their emotions, such as self confidence and self worth.

Many women who quickly become sexually intimate more easily confuse sex with love or see it as evidence of their partner’s love.  Sex becomes a shortcut to what seems like a close relationship.  Unfortunately, women who have sex early in relationships often feel somewhat like “used goods” when the relationship ends.

This problem becomes much worse when a dangerous drug like meth is involved.  Sexual inhibitions are released, sex happens more indiscriminantly, and the emotional pain grows over time.  This often leads to more drug use to manage and blur deep emotions.  Meth is so quickly addictive, this sexual downward spiral can quickly get out of control.

Women High On Meth Pick Bad Boyfriends

Another problem is that women addicted to meth make many poor choices in sexual partners.  As I’ve mentioned before, you generally choose someone as mentally healthy as you are for friends and intimate relationships.  So if you are a woman addicted to meth, you are almost certainly going to find a sexual partner among your drug connections or their friends.  They are likely having just as many emotional and personal problems that could truly put a woman in danger.

Men on drugs often have problems with anger and aggression.  Meth addicted women are at risk for staying around abusive men too long.  A woman’s judgment is seriously impaired with meth addiction.  She may ignore clear warning signs, or misinterpret them to protect her unstable emotionals.  Also, men and women with meth addiction are likely to use unsafe sexual practices.  Their judgment and awareness is way off track, clouding the real risk for sexually transmitted diseases or unplanned pregnancies.

Women Trapped In Meth Addiction Put Hope In Drug Rehab For Women

Drug rehab is a beacon of hope for women drowning in a meth addiction.  Meth does so much damage in such a short time, a professional drug rehab center is almost necessary for getting off the addiction track.

Do whatever it takes - this isn’t something to fight on your own.  The psychological addiction is so strong with meth that your unmanaged emotions will almost certainly suck you back in.  This is truly a drug like no other.  A drug rehab centercan help you get out of the deadly grip of meth addiction.
