Last year, I watched a heart wrenching episode of A&E’s Intervention featuring a young woman named Allison. She was an over achiever with a difficult family past. During college, she crashed through the façade and ended up addicted to inhalants. The episode showed her purchasing ten aerosol computer dusters at a time and driving shortly after she huffed. Her speech was slurred, her behavior was erratic and extreme, and her future looked bleak.
