Florida Drug Treatment Centers
It is far easier to become addicted to drugs than it is to break that addiction once it develops. Luckily drug and alcohol addiction treatment is not something that you have to undertake alone. A good Florida drug treatment center can make sure that you are safe as you detox off of your drug of choice, help you readjust and learn positive ways of dealing with stress and trauma that promote health and healing.
Orchid Recovery Center is a premier drug treatment center in Florida designed specifically to meet the needs of women who are suffering in the grips of alcohol and drug addiction. We also cater to those who have issues with dual diagnosis, or are diagnosed with other disorders and addictions concurrent with their drug and alcohol addiction.
Florida Drug Treatment Centers: Why You Can't Quit Alone
Some people addicted to drugs try to quit on their own. However, the success rate is not encouraging. Not only do you remain immersed in the environment that enabled your addiction in the first place, but you continue to have access to the drugs themselves. Also, if you are physically dependent upon your drug of choice, you may experience withdrawal symptoms, a state that is uncomfortable at best and deadly at worst. Few make it through this phase without returning to drug use in order to ease the symptoms, but if you are one of those lucky few, you still have to battle with the drug cravings and psychological addiction. Without treatment that may include any combination of one-on-one therapy, support groups, 12-step meetings, alternative therapies, holistic treatments, meditation and bodywork, a nutritional diet and gentle exercise, you won't learn why you began using in the first place, recognize your triggers, and gain the tools you need to keep yourself from relapsing when faced with those triggers.
Florida Drug Treatment Centers: 3 Stages of Treatment
At Orchid Recovery Center, we pride ourselves on providing you with a completely individualized drug treatment program that addresses not just the physical aspects of addiction but the mental, emotional and spiritual effects as well. The first stage does focus on physical addiction because until you are out of danger as far as withdrawal symptoms are concerned, you won't be able to focus on anything else. Medication may be used during this stage to ease your discomfort and/or speed up the detoxification process and holistic methods like yoga, meditation and bodywork will also be employed to help you flush the toxins from your system.
Detox doesn't completely end in an efficient drug treatment, but continues through good nutrition and healthy lifestyle changes well into the second and third stages and, hopefully, after you return home. The second stage includes therapeutic programs like art therapy, dramatic therapy, equine-assisted therapy and adventure therapy can help individually or in combination to help you explore the root causes of your addiction and learn new ways to cope with these causes. These in combination with one-on-one therapy and support groups is the meat of most drug treatment centers. The third stage begins at some point during the second stage and covers relapse prevention, which includes any number of educational tools to help you remain drug-free when you return home.
