I think women may have a harder time coming to terms with having to go into to treatment than men. I think there is a lot of shame associated with addiction and a women may feel she has to protect her reputation by hiding her drug or alcohol use rather than seeking treatment for it. However, society is becoming more educated on addiction and there is much more openness about the disease. There is so much hope in treatment I hope it continues its path of becoming more widely accepted. Thank you for your information on the value of group drug treatment.
